Borehamwood & Elstree United Synagogue's Rabbi Alex Chapper recently had the idea to transform the door to their shul office and kiddush hall to make it more welcoming, and so asked Yardena Jackson, who was studying Art A-Level at Hasmonean High School, if she could design a mural and paint it onto the door.

After finishing her A-levels and before going to Seminary in Israel, she painted the mural which completely transformed the door!

Rabbi Chapper commented: “The results have totally exceeded my expectations, and everyone who has seen it has commented on how amazing it now looks. It just shows how the fabric of a building can be made more welcoming.”
