Purim in a Box

This year, US Chesed created Purim in a Box, an ideal way to celebrate Purim 2021 at home whilst fulfilling some of the mitzvot of the festival!

The box contained everything needed to prepare a festive breakfast Seudah (meal) on Purim. The boxes could also be gifted to US Chesed to fulfil the mitzvah of Mishloach Manot (giving edible gifts), and people were able to donate online to fulfil the mitzvah of Matanot Laevyonim (charity to help people in need).

These boxes and donations were then distributed on Purim by US Chesed. In total, the United Synagogue provided 350 festive seuda breakfast boxes and delivered 1,700 mishloach manot parcels to families in need. £3,550 was donated for matanot l’evyonim and was given out confidentially to the many Jewish families in need.
