We were deeply saddened by the sudden passing of our dear colleague and friend Sharon Feldman-Vazan z’l who had been bravely fighting a serious illness for some time.
Sharon worked for KLBD for a decade, enabling companies to receive kosher certification including big names like Love Corn, Slush Puppie and Doves Farm.
Her work spanned the globe, certifying companies in Jordan, Bulgaria, USA, India as well as many in the UK.
In the UK Sharon was known for her KLBD Roadshow where she would take some 200 kosher products to shuls, schools and community organisations for people to taste. She also devised an innovative online version during the pandemic.
She travelled the world to food exhibitions to tell people about kosher food in countries as diverse as Dubai and the Philippines, sometimes meeting up to 150 exhibitors in a day!
She loved her work and was in turn cherished by everyone who worked with her. Rabbi Jeremy Conway, KLBD’s Director said: “Sharon’s radiant personality lit up the room, and her impact, particularly through the community roadshows she invented, was immense. It was a privilege to have known and worked with her. Yehi Zichra Baruch – may her memory be for a blessing.”
Russell Brown, Commercial Consultant added ‘ Her passion and enthusiasm for gaining new food and drink products knew no bounds. She was very popular amongst regular exhibitors, She will be sorely missed’.
Kosherfest was a big annual event for Sharon, and Rabbi Elie Schoemann, Director of Licensing who worked with her at these shows shared ‘There is so much I’ve learned from Sharon over the years with regards to building relationships, professional conduct, energetic and positive attitudes and much more.’
Sharon will be sorely missed. Our thoughts are with her husband Reuven and their two children.
