Last week, 150 young professionals came to the new South Hampstead United Synagogue building for an inspiring Young US Friday night dinner. It was hosted by South Hampstead United Synagogue together with St John’s Wood United and Western Marble Arch Synagogues.
The Young US event featured a Kabbalat Shabbat service, followed by cocktails, dinner and a guest speaker. Guests heard from Gideon Falter, the Chief Executive of Campaign Against Antisemitism, who spoke about his award winning work. He joined the charity in 2014, as the war between Israel and Hamas was flaring and antisemitism was rising in the UK. The charity exposes and counters antisemitism through education and legal investigation.
Ana Gabizon, participant, said, ‘’It was an amazing dinner. Perfect location, better company, great food.’’
Rabbi Odze, Associate Rabbi at South Hampstead Synagogue said, ‘’It was great to see 150 young people in our brand new building enjoying Shabbat together. We are proud to once again have teamed up with local communities to enhance the experience for so many young professionals.‘’
