Certified by KLBD Products have regular factory audits by qualified rabbinical inspectors. Companies enter a legally binding contract which covers ingredients, suppliers and manufacturing processes. The decision to print the KLBD logo on the packaging is up to the company and absence of the logo does not affect the kosher status, unless otherwise indicated in the notes.

Approved by KLBD Products are investigated by food technologists and rabbinically approved based on information received from the manufacturers. Investigations are carried out mainly by correspondence and cover ingredients, processing aids and shared use of production equipment. It is preferable, whenever possible, to buy products with a hechsher.

Certified by another recognised authority Products bearing the hechsher of another recognised kashrut authority.

Dairy products may be Dairy (Chalav Yisrael), made with kosher supervised milk, or Dairy (Chalav Akum), made with regular (non-supervised) milk. Click here for more information about supervised and non-supervised milk.

The designation Dairy Equipment refers to products containing parev ingredients but manufactured on lines used for dairy items. Such items should not be eaten together with meat, but may be eaten after. They can be served on meaty utensils.

Baked goods may be Pas Yisrael or Pas Palter and this is indicated in the notes, where relevant. Click here for an explanation of these terms.

Products listed as ‘NO’ may be Not Kosher because they contain non-kosher ingredients or are manufactured on a line which processes non-kosher ingredients. Alternatively, they may be Neither certified nor approved due to insufficient information from the manufacturer.
